Sophie Freeman

Senior Structural Engineer

Sophie is a Senior Structural Engineer who joined us in September 2022. Her day to day role sees her working alongside clients, Architects and other construction professionals to achieve the project brief, whether this is be a single beam over an opening in a residential property or a small development or renovation. She has a broad range of experience which includes historic structures, reservoir and natural flood management.  


Sophie graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2014 with a BEng in Civil Engineering. As a student Sophie worked as an On-site lab technician and setting out engineer before taking on a role in Malawi, Africa where she worked as a construction engineer constructing classrooms.


Sophie is working towards Chartered status within both The Institution of Structural Engineers and the Institution of Civil Engineers. She has a keen interest in conservation and historic structures and hopes to join the ‘Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineers (CARE)’ after obtaining Chartership. She is keen to share her learning whilst supporting young engineers.
