Aaron Smith

Aaron joined our team in 2014 after working in the design office of a local steelwork fabricator, bringing with him a strong knowledge of steel design and detailing. He has an HND in Construction and the Built Environment and has been an Incorporated Member of the Institute of Structural Engineers since 2023, currently working towards becoming Chartered.

With over 10 years’ experience at Canham Consulting, Aaron has undertaken a vast array of project types, ranging from small domestic alterations to large-scale industrial developments. He currently works within our Special Projects team, dealing with projects that are ‘outside of the norm’ or within high-risk sectors such as energy, defence and temporary works. He is currently leading the structural design of a new public leisure space located at Lowestoft beachfront.

Outside of work, Aaron loves almost anything sports-related. He has tried his hand at many of them, including football, cricket and his current love/source of frustration: golf. He loves dogs, despite being allergic, and hates socks.
