The Row at Weeting, situated in the centre of the village, was built in the mid 18th century and is reputed to be the longest row of thatched listed cottages in England.
When chimney fires damaged the structure, Canham Consulting was called in to carry out emergency structural safety inspections and we arranged temporary works to make them safe. We then worked as the contract administrator for the duration of the contract to refurbish the cottages, producing drawings and detailed specifications to sympathetically rebuild the cottages in conjunction with statutory requirements.
Canham Consulting also acted as party wall surveyors to facilitate the contract works in accordance with the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. In addition, we acted as the CDM coordinator for our client, working closely with the relevant contractors to comply with Construction Design Management Regulations 2007.
